Well this month we have brought our prices even lower. Why you might ask? Well we all know the country isn't into great of a condition economically, so we here at Old World Wood Floors decided that the recession should not be an obstacle for good folks like yourself to not afford the hardwood floors that you want. Our sanding and refinishing hardwood floors service prices have been lowered to 2.15$.

Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity and get your flooring done now.

Have not posted in quite some time now, this is due to being really busy in the field. The holiday season is coming up and people want their house to be ready to WOW their relatives with the new hardwood floors. Good for them and awesome for us. I don’t have a topic to write about today just decided to write something because I saw that we have 6 views on the blog and I am really interested who are these viewers? Post your comments introduce yourself.

Speaking of the holiday season, Thanksgiving is coming up. Let me know what are you guys most thankful for.

Here is another post by me!! I am starting to feel like a super star with all these people reading my blogs. I mean I can’t go outside without someone asking me for an autograph!

Just kidding, doesn't seem anybody is reading these. But that’s OK the main reason I even started posting is so that I can express myself. So far I am enjoying it. Posting about things that bother me or things that I think about is so very relaxing. A great stress reliever. While writing about things strangely enough it takes my mind off those things that were bothering me... Weird, right?

So I guess writing is just something I do to perhaps keep my mind at ease.

The topic that I picked for today is, as you can see above Hardwood Floors. It is strange for me to write about hardwood floors, but it is most likely really strange for people to visit a hardwood floors site and read about anything other than hardwood floors.

So what can I tell you about hardwood floors? I have been working on the field mostly just helping Andrey out (that’s my dad by the way). And from the perspective of an installer or a sander, installation of hardwood floors is extremely hard and taxing labor. Having worked on the field I do believe with all my heart that it is a very underpaid job. But then that’s my opinion. The main geographical area we try to focus on is from Seattle to Tacoma and anything in between or near those cities.

But let’s get back to what I was saying about the labor. Many of our costumers look at the pricing of our work and decide that it’s a little too expensive. I don’t blame them one bit, I would too if I had no idea how hard that money is earned by those professionals.

Some times after finishing a hardwood flooring project, I look at the floors and they just lay there quietly and so easily, it’s hard to believe that this is the same project that I thought I was going to die at. Everything just seems so easy after it’s done.

I think that is how my costumers view the labor that we do, it’s just so simple and easy why would anybody charge so much for this. It is NOT! I guess the point of this post is to get a little taste of hardwood flooring in words across to people who hire us. It’s not as easy as it seems.

If you are reading these blogs please do post comments or email us, I would love to hear from you.

Topics to write about have become really scarce for me... I know I only wrote one topic so far and yes it’s true I am out of ideas.

They call it writers block. Which I think can only be used as an excuse once you wrote a book or something. Not just one article or one blog post. But that just what happens to me, I start something and then I never finish it. The first article I finished surprisingly but it was short.

So I came to a question why write at all? I don’t know you tell me. Being stuck on the question for a while I decided that I will think about it. And I have. People write things down or up, (whatever is your preference) is so that they won’t forget it.

Now this may sound a little absurd, yes I know it does but hear me out.

That awesome book you read, you know the one that captured your imagination, took you to a whole new world? Yea that one. Well guess why the author wrote it... Yep you guessed it so that he won’t forget the awesome world and characters he created. When the time comes and someone asks him/her "Hey you ever think of something awesome like this...” (And then goes into describing some weird and strange world) the author of said book will pull his book out and be like "Yes I did."

Yea you may argue that is not the only reason authors write stuff. Maybe not but I like to think so. Makes it a lot less stressful to create worlds and put ordinary ideas into them. When you are writing just so that you won’t forget it tomorrow, you are not worried about sounding dumb or too weird, you know? You will probably change everything in this story tomorrow anyways, right?

So let your creative juices flow.

People express them self in a lot of different ways, writing, drawing and making music. Which are all awesome ways of expressing yourself. But I always wanted to express myself in writing and found the idea of writing something with a genuine meaning just too daunting and never did it.

So now I just write short and pointless stories to keep my brain occupied for a short time. Like weight lifting for the mind, just write stuff to get your brain thinking.

Hopefully this will help others out there to write more and express them self. Don’t be too serious, play around with words, and play around with ideas and if worst comes to worst just start writing about the stuff you have no idea about. Try pretending like you know everything about it or have no idea, whatever helps.

There was nothing. Sadly that is how everything starts out. First there is nothing, and then there is a little bit of something, but not quite a thing yet. As time passes and the little something grows, develops and matures, it becomes quite something!

If you pay attention to life you will notice that is the principle that everything worth anything revolves around. This is also true for websites and blogs, like the one you are reading now.

As you are able to tell this is the first post in this blog, which is a really big achievement for this site. We are not a big company, we don’t have millions of dollars to spend, we are not SEO professionals. We are people just like everyone else and like everyone else we have this tiny winy little thing called.... OPINIONS!!!

Shocked? Good you should be.

So the main purpose of this site will be so that we can post those opinions and discuss things with our clients and friends.

Come on in, sign up, comment and most of all enjoy your stay.
